Clear roles make it possible to understand who decides, who carries out a task and who must explain the outcome.
Trustees and charitable decisions
Trustees act collectively in the charity’s interests. An appointment by another organisation does not remove that duty. Their governing powers and any valid delegation determine how decisions can be made.
Service providers and operations
Payment processing, custody, conversion, banking and reporting can involve different providers. A service description needs to identify the legal entity performing each task and the records it supplies.
For each delegated task, the documentation should explain the limits of authority, how performance is reviewed and what happens if the service is interrupted. A provider’s brand name does not describe those contractual arrangements.
Local delivery
A grant recipient may deliver a project directly or work with other organisations. The funding agreement needs to explain the purpose, conditions, payment arrangements and reporting expectations.
The people using a service also need practical information about access, feedback and concerns. Financial reporting and a useful service experience address different questions; both belong in a complete delivery plan.
Fund appointments
A published board list and appointment records are maintained centrally and made available for transparency in published records.
